  • This is not true that its a slum area, with poverty. As with any town in America it IS run down some only because it is in the older area, but if a person will do a little research the gang activity and violance is prevailant ALL over our city, that's the sad shame. The boulevard was at one time a beautiful place, but as time happens all things come to a demise. I believe the Amarillo Police Department has a control on the prostition, which was more prevailant in the 1980's. I'm sure sorry to you commenter, that you dislike our fine city.

  • Amarillo is a great place to live! I grew up there and have since moved on, but I wouldn't have wished to grow up anywhere else.
