National Airport's first and oldest terminal, designed c. 1941 by Louis A. Simon as supervising architect as a Streamline Moderne (art deco) architectural adaptation of Mount Vernon estate. It is listed on National Register of Historic Places. The terminal still houses Southwest, Air Canada Express, and Frontier. All other flights leave and depart from Terminal 2 "The New Terminal".
