Mahudi

India / Gujarat / Vijapur /

Mahudi is an ancient town in the state of Gujarat. People say that this is village is around 2000
years old. The primary evidence of this fact are the findings of the excavations. As it is with all
other old cities of India, Mahudi is also blessed with various old structures such as the famous Jain
Temple, Kotyark Temple, Guru Mandir, etc.

Due to the presence of the temples, a lot of religious events and festivals are celebrated in the
village. The locals say that the Lord Ghantakarna Temple is very auspicious and the devotees
who come to seek the blessings of the lord achieve success in all spheres of life. Despite the
advancements and the changes in the lives of people living in the surrounding areas, the village still
carries its glory and continues to be a calm and quiet destination.

The village is very close to the Sabarmati river, where the famous Sabarmati Ashram was
established by Mahatma Gandhi, who is known as the Father of the Nation.

Mahudi is close to Gandhinagar and Ahmadabad. This proximity benefits the tourists as they reach
to this village easily by public transport or private vehicles.
