Highbury Stadium (Arsenal Stadium, Part-Demolished) (London)

United Kingdom / England / London
stadium, historical layer / disappeared object

Officially 'Arsenal Stadium', but more commonly referred to as Highbury, this architectural masterpiece was Arsenal's home ground from 1913 to 2006. It had a long history but the club moved to a new stadium at Emirates as it was simply too small.
It was turned into residential property, but will retain exteriors of the old east stand - which is a Grade II listed building - and matching west stand.

  • The Great Memory
  • GLORY GLORY GLORY HIGHBURY!!!
  • I think it was too small for a huge club like Arsenal but I'm sure there were great memories for all their loyal fans.
  • I will never forget highbury, i still have the memorial shirt, yet it would have been better if they expanded it instead of build emirates, i mean old trafford and stanford bridge were smaller the highbury then they done an expansion plan.Still emirtats is not bad.
  • More character and atmosphere than the new place will ever manage. Get rid of the tourists and bring back the proper fans.
  • lots off great memories here, i still wish it was not demolished:(
