Qala'at al Mudiq (Qalaat al-Madiq)

The acropolis and by this center of ancient Apamaia, fortified under Seleucid reign, beginning 12th century seat of the crusaders before conquered by Nur ed Din, it was destroyed by the heavy earthquake of 1157 as the city of Apamaia, when most of the settlers left the place only some remaind inside the fortified hill till today. As it is densly dwelled, no archeological survey could be done in modern times and nothing historic can be seen but the outer wall.
