"Jewel of the Renaisance". It was Built mainly by Andrés de Vandelvira. Its construction spent more than 200 years (1570-1802). It is thought that the majesty and size of this Cathedral is because it was built to shelter the relic of The Holy Face, or Veil of Veronica, lodged at the major chapel and that is exposed to the public every Friday.
They can be appreciated different artistic styles, being the most prominent Renaissance.
It aspires to be listed as World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.
One of the most famous images in this Cathedral is Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, "El Abuelo", which is one of the best exponents of Semana Santa in Spain.
