 hospital, Veterans Affairs (VA)

For all the wannabe Navy Corpsman, you'll do "clinicals" here, meaning, just before actually becoming a Navy Corpsman, you will rotate through the wards here at the VA or you'll rotate through the "clinic" where all the boots get medical check ups and immunizations. Ain't nothing compared to what you'll do in the fleet, and what you do in the fleet ain't nothing compared to what you'll do as a FMF doc. Field Medical Service School gives you better training that what you get at Hospital Corps School. Many will find it hard, and you will not get out of it if you don't pass, you just keep on rotating thru with other classes until you do!! If you get thru FMSS and become a good Doc and sent to a Marine unit, you will be treated like a king..if you're a dirt bag corpsman, those 3 years with them will suck for you.
