www.ncstatefair.org/dorton.htm, widely known for its distinctive architecture, a roof held up only by cables. Former home of several sports teams of varying success, most notably the ECHL Raleigh IceCaps hockey team from 1991 to 1998. Is currently mostly used for expo space and concerts during the State Fair in October.

  • I have worked part time at this venue for 11 years. I've never heard it refered to as the "pringle chip".
  • I hadn't either. I removed that description, along with calling the downtown Clarion hotel "the curler."
