In the 1950's the ROTOR network of 'secret' radar stations was set up. In typical British style, the entry to each underground site was a 'bungalow' of standard design, each with a verandah at the front, but a staircase at the rear down to the secret activities. Many still survive now as private houses, like this one, and the one at Treleavor. Was having the standard bungalow design a serious flaw, or a subtle 'counter ploy'.....who would believe all bungalows looking like were actually the entrance to a secret bunker!
