A village of Education and culture.One of the Oldest High School in the name of Raja Ram MOhan is in the centre of the village and this school was the source of lumination of the candles of Education, which exploded in different direction. The pioneers of modern thinking Sh. Narayan Biswas, Sh. Kartik Ch. Biswas, Pratap Babu, Bhagirath Babu, and my father Krishna Babu & many more were borne in this village. No doubt I feel proud being borne in this village.

  • This is one of the prominent place of culture and civilisation. It is known that the VANGA kingdom was dominating these area being its centre at Kotalipara. The ruine of their kingdom is steel prominent arround the three PARs, Paschimpar, Dakshinpar & Uttarpar. The Vanga state had a Jagirdar at Lakhirpar. The ruined concrete base and pakka stairs of the Old pond (Andha Pukur) of Biswas Bari (House of Krishna Kanta Biswas, Narayan Biswas & Kalipada Biswas) is a clear evidence. The granite Idols of Sun God, Budha and Narayan found arround the village narrates its glorious haritage. The Brahmo movement of Keshab Chandra Sen was being responded here at Sonail Bari. Ram Mohan Vidyalaya is its out come. This village was the centre of Education and culture of these region.
