monument, obelisk, Grade II Listed (UK)

Commemorates the Battle of Evesham, 4th August 1265 (see larger box surrounding this place). This monument is a Grade II British Listed Building, see www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-147533-obelisk-to-s... Several online sources say the monument was erected c. 1845 by Edward Rudge on the supposed site of the death of Simon De Montfort, Earl of Leicester and leader of the rebels, though the location has been subsequently questioned.
