Sultan Azlan Shah Airport (IATA: IPH, ICAO: WMKI) is an airport that serves Ipoh, Perak's State Capital. It was built in late 1960s. The airport is named after Sultan Azlan Shah, the ninth King of Malaysia (1989-1994). The airport used to be a small Fokker airfield, it was expanded in the 1980s to accommodate jet aircraft operation. However (as of 2010), due to its location near residential areas, the airport could no longer be extended further.

Currently, it is used as a feeder airport to other region, as it couldn't compete with other airports such as Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Penang International Airport. Apart from Firefly (www.fireflyz.com.my/) that operates 1 flight a day from Ipoh to Singapore, there is another airline called Silver Fly (www.silverflyperak.com/) which is actually Ipoh's own Airline. The other airlines (such as AirAsia and Malaysia Airline) refuses to fly into Ipoh due to the small size of its airport.
