Renton store of a multi-store system owned and operated by a local family. Located at 440 Rainier Avenue South near downtown Renton. Renton store is over 120,000 square feet in size and carries over 150,000 different items. Staff is knowledgable and helpful. Many people regard it as the finest hardware store in the Puget Sound area, better than the large chains like The Home Depot and Lowe's. It was founded in 1926.

It was a K-Mart store before McLendon's bought it. Before that, this was the site of a hospital.

McLendon hardware can be traced back to the U.S. Junk Company which opened in 1927.
