The switching gear to turn "on" or "off" any of the 6 3-phase (A-B-C phases) mainline alternating current circuits running directly from the Nevada-side power generators to Las Vegas and beyond. In the associated photographs, there is a switch in the "off" (up) position, and a switch in the "on" (down) position, showing both a closed ("on" - down position) and open ("off" - up position) circuit.

The switchyard is deactivated, and the power lines now bypass the system entirely (with the exception of using the uppermost girders as a support system).
