This is the old Cine Metropole complex, one of the four screen cinema theatres Margao has known. The oldest, Cine Olympia (where Costao Tailors, etc. are now, opp. Govind Poy/Vissu Virginkar harware shops on Jose Inacio Loyola Road) had an early demise. Metropole was owned by a branch of the Margao Mawanis. The cinema was closed and a part of the complex where a hotel by the same name was built, was since sold to the Nanu Naiks, now rechristened Nanutel.
Vishant and Cine Lata are two cinema theatres that run to this day.
