Sugar Creek, Missouri

Sugar Creek was the site of a Standard Oil refinery, which was a place of employment for many of the original Eastern European immigrants who settled here. The refinery was dismantled in the 1980s. The city is still home to many second generation Eastern European descendants, and has an annual celebration to honor their traditions.
