Since 1766, Cockburn (pronounced /ˈkoʊbərn/ KOE-bərn) Town has been the seat of government for the Turks & Caicos Islands, a British Overseas Territory.

Primary settlement on the Island of Grand Turk, and the largest town in the Turks chain of islands, with a population around 3,700. Founded in 1681 by salt traders.
