  • This school must have been the District Board High School in the early 1950s and became Ukkadai Appavoo Thever High School in about 1955. I did my S S L C from that school in 1957 and was told that it was shifted to the present site closer to the railway station after about 1958. I did manage to proceed further in my chosen vocation starting at St Joseph's College Trichy, Madurai/ Thanjavur Medical colleges and shifted to New Zealand in 1970, became a Neuro-Surgeon and settled in Adelaide Austrlaia. I always think about the school which gave me a good start and reach to the stage I am in now. Can somebody clarify that this school was the District Board High School in the 1950s. Thank you.
  • Dear Mr.Thanga Rajan. Panchayat Union Middle School, Ammapet is a Govt School. Now it is Panchayat Union High School. Ukkadai A. Appavoo Thever High School is different. Now it is Ukkadai A Appavoo Thevar Higher Secondary School. It is in Puthur. It is a private school different from PUMS. I studied in both schools (3rd to 8th in PUMS and 9th to +2 in UAATHS).
  • I was a student of this school from 5th Std to 8th Std during the years 1977-78 to 1980-81. Mr RajaGanapathy Sir was the HM when I was in this school. After he left Mr Paulraj was the acting HM. During our times we were one of the best batches. This school scored the first and second rank in the talent tests (I think block level) conducted by the Govt for 8th Pass students. My batchmate A Senthilkumar scored the first rank in the talent test and myself scored the Second rank while a girl from Rejina Celi Girls High school, Ammapet came at 4th place. Our teachers were proud of us. I miss this school very much. My life as a student of this school is the best days of my life. If anyone could tell anything about Senthil Kumar Pls let me know. He was my rival :)
