Langkawi International Airport (IATA: LGK, ICAO: WMKL), is an airport situated on the duty-free island of Langkawi in the state of Kedah in Malaysia. The airport is located at Padang Matsirat and is about 25 minutes drive from the town centre, Kuah. Flights from the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur to the airport take about 60 minutes.
The Langkawi International Airport is a tourist attraction because it serves as a venue for the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition or LIMA which is an international aerospace event for aviation industry and aero performances for the public.
In 2007, the airport handled 1,122,911 passengers and 43,234 aircraft movements.[4]
Taxis, car rental services, restaurants, shopping arcade and banks are available at the airport.
Mr. Mahmud Fauzi Hj Kadir is the current airport manager.
