Jingling was completed in 1681. It is the burial place of Kangxi, 2nd Qing Emperor, who died in 1722. Also in the tomb were his 4 Empresses (Xiao Cheng, Xiao Zhao, Xiao Yi & Xiao Gong) and Jingmin HuangGuiFei ("huangguifei" is the highest rank of concubine). Nearby (1km to SE) is the "Twin Feis' Tomb" where two other Kangxi huangguifeis (Quehui & Dunyi) are buried.

Comments

  • This tomb had been robbed once in 1928 and again after the end of Sino-Japanese war in 1945. It also suffered several severe fire damage in 1832, 1905 and 1952. Many valuable documents as well as art treasures had been lost.
