Xiaoling, the first and largest of the Eastern Qing Tombs, was largely finished in 1664. It is the burial place of Shunzhi, 1st Qing Emperor of all China, who died in 1661. Also in the tomb were 2 of his 4 Empresses (Xiao Xian & Xiao Kang). All three were cremated and only urns containing their ashes were buried here.
