Also known as the dull 'Town Centre West Junction', this roundabout west of central Basingstoke is named after the former automobile manufacturers Thornycroft who used to work in Basingstoke. One person was killed on this roundabout but wasn't found for 4 days, and another claimed to have been abducted by aliens. The roundabout is a fraction of its original size, and was originally a large unattractive roundabout, with a motorbike course in the centre. It wasn't as circular as it is today, and was probably due to be turned inter an interchange junction, but the plans were abandoned.
