Hambden Fire Department is a combination paid / volunteer fire department which serves the residents of Hambden Township in Northeast Ohio. Our first response area is 25 square miles and protects approximately 4000 people. We also respond automatic aid for another 75 square miles for reported fires. Providing 24-hour Fire and Advanced Life Support EMS coverage to our residents, the department operates 11 vehicles, including: 2 Engines, 2 Tankers, 2 Ambulances, Jeep, Utility Vehicle, Chase Vehicle, Chief's Car, Row Boat, & Geauga County Hazmat Team Spill Trailer. We have 40 members working from one fire station. Our average call volume is just under 500 calls per year, with many of those being EMS oriented. The station is staffed 16 hours a day by 3 Personnel from 7am-5pm and 2 Personnel 5pm-11pm. Plans for a future addition to allow 24 hour coverage are underway.
