This school, named Highland Park Renaissance High School in its final days, was originally built in 1977 on the site of Ford Park (from what I could gather, this would become the athletic facilities). Highland Park High School's new location co-built with the Highland Park Junior College (later Highland Park Community College, which coincided with a name change of the high school to Highland Park Community High School). Over time, the school's facilities deteriorated, enrollment declined, and the college closed. In 2012, it became a charter school following outsourcing, and in 2014 moved out (the school shut down for good shortly thereafter).
