Operated by Charles Nelson Co whom produced 'Cock brand' cement in the nearby works, the towers(rumblers)still stand which lifted wagons to the top of the quarry and remains of the narrow gauge railway can be found around the site. The water depth is about 7m deep and various stuctures are lurking underneath making it very dangerous. It closed in 1949 after being bought br Rugby Portland cement and there is a full set of photographs showing it operating in 1944.
