Tanbark Ridge Overlook

An overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 376 just north of Asheville, NC. Elevation = 3175. The view is east and overlooks a small valley. About 800 ft below, you will see a sparsely populated neighborhood of houses aligned with Bull Creek Rd. The overlook is situated near the midpoint of the western ridge. Behind the overlook, the ridge ascends another 700 ft. The summit of this ridge is acessible via Elk Mountain Scenic Highway and Elk Trail (next left turn north on the Parkway).
