This is the 2nd original George Green Homestead, the original site of the first structure is further up the road, which incidently is named after the Green family. This large home is well over a hundred years old and was added on to over the years by the Green family. It sits a top of a mild hill over looking the original 640 acres that was settled by George Green of England in 1837, during the land claim. The Greens were known for "running shine" through this area during prohibition, as money was scarce. None of the original property are owned by any descendants of the Green family (to my knowledge) as of this date.
