This IOC inhold a training facility for Iraqi Air defence, and the no. 1 RP which was serving Baghdads Air operations.

The IOC was partially disabled by US missile attack in 1991, when the main concrete shelters were distroyed, and all the offisors wer kille in that attack.

The Iraqi army partially re-equiped this IOC in 1993.

The distoed concrete shelters are visible on the map. I will try to mark some of the radar places and also the underground rermoute radar control room.

I would also like to mension that the Iraqi army was intending to build an airbase for emergincy landing in this area.

There was also other air force units in the region one of which was a rocket lonching facility, and an anti air artilary unit.
