Military polygon in Vismaliukai village area was created during Interwar (Polish) period. It was turned later in Soviet Period into shooting range of Vlinius Higher Command Military Radio Electronics Academy for Air Defense Troops. Abondoned since 1992, the Academy itself was transferred to Saint Petersburg. Since 2015 the polygon was turned into Vismaliukai Investment Zone of Innovation zone and new buildings and roads were constructed. Only the eastern part of Vismaliukai polygon remains undemolished.
