Ethan Allen built this home and lived here with his wife for the last two years of his life (1787-1789). The barn was built in the 1930s, and now houses the museum offices, gift shop, and a replica of the tavern in which Allen and the Green Mountain Boys held their planning sessions.
On the property are community gardens, nature trails and a picnic area.
