Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies (KIAMS) has been set up by the Kirloskar Group, as part of the realisation of the vision of late Shri SL Kirloskar. Recognising the imperative need for fostering managerial and organisational excellence, it is dedicated to the task of management education and development.

The Institute began with a thrust on Management Development Programmes (MDP) aimed primarily at the Kirloskar Group of Companies. The Institute has conducted over 245 MDPs and trained over 5,100 managers. Several organisations outside the Kirloskar Group have also sponsored participants in these programmes. The Institute offers a variety of programmes both in general management and functional areas of management for managers at all levels.

KIAMS started the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) Programme in 1998. The vast accumulated experience of the faculty in conducting a large number of MDPs and the desire to train corporate leaders of tomorrow was the primary factor behind the decision to commence the PGDM Programme.
