Fremont is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Sandusky County. The population was 17,375 at the 2000 census. Former Republican president Rutherford B. Hayes lived here and dedicated a library to this town. The National Arbor Day Foundation has designated Fremont as a Tree City USA.
