Opened in 1907. Charles and Franziska Rothmann opened an inn & tavern. Rothmann’s reputation attracted following of notable politicians and socialites like Theodore Roosevelt and celebrities like Bob Hope, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.

The Rothmann family owned the place till the early 70's but was sold by their remaining children. Later sold to songwriter Burt Bacharach, now has new owners. It is operated by the Rothmann's Restaurant Group.

(I went to school with grandson Jim O'Rourke and knew his Mom Gloria Rothmann-O'Rourke, great family.)
