Hill Top is a suburban area of Nuneaton located approximately 1½ miles (2½ km) south of the town centre. The main road through the area, Coventry Road, boasts a number of large old houses, one of which has been converted to become Nuneaton Private Hospital.
There are two main housing estates in the area, both of which have a high proportion of social housing. They are informally known as Old Hill Top (to the west of Coventry Road and College Street) and New Hill Top (to the east of Coventry Road off Donnithorne Avenue). Both were built by Nuneaton Borough Council – the former in the 1930s and the latter in the 1950s. Most of the streets on these estates are named after characters and places from the works of George Eliot.
