  • Visting Tikkar Taal & Morni As a frequent visitor to the Morni hills and Tikkar Taal I can say with some authority that its as pretty as any hill station with enough to please most visitors provided you know what to look for. A tiny town of of under 5000 people, Morni is spread over several hills ranging between 3000 to 4000 feet. The twin lakes of Tikkar Taal, at just over 2000 feet, are even lower. Tikkar Taal & even Morni get hot in peak summer. However, that's when most people visit, if for no other reason then because they are closer to Chandigah tricity than most Himachal hill towns, are a lot less crowded at this time of the year & significantly cooler than the plains. Since they get mostly weekend fare the hotels & eateries in both places offer fairly basic fare at equally basic prices. The Haryana Tourism hotels at Morni & Tikkar Taal & the new Lakeside Cafe on Tikkar Lake offer a more varied menu. Most importantly, there is a lot to see and do if you know where to look. Just a few places: Morni Fort -- a well preserved monument dating back to the seventeenth century lies just off the Morni road. The Thakurdwara temple, Tikkar lake has stone sculptures dating back to the tenth century. The temples & the lakes themselves are connected with the Pandavas, with Bhim being credited with creating them. The cliffs above Sher Gujjran, 3 km from Tikkar Taal are some of the most magnificent mud cliff formations in the region. There are several forest lakes with migratory birds in a pristine setting near Kaimbwala, 8 km from Tikkar Taal. Apart from these there is boating, some excellent treks & thick pine forest, all within an hour from Chandigarh and five hours from Delhi
  • There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good...So love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't...Life is too short to be anything but happy...
