This was a Meijer from 1988 to June 2016. In late 2016, Huntington Bank announced plans today to transform the former Meijer at 5555 Cleveland Avenue into office space for up to 1,600 employees, called Huntington Gateway Center, to open sometime in 2017. Meijer closed the store because, reportedly "the age and design of the store make it economically impossible to remodel to meet the company’s current standards", though the company opted not to rebuild it.
