1953_construction, metro entrance / exit, revealed object of cultural heritage (Russia), Renaissance Revival (architecture)

Opened in 1953

In earlier times, the lobby was built into the center of the General Staff Building of the Russian Defense Ministry. The original exit used to be a separate building, but it was relocated into the courtyard of this building and now is not used by passengers.

Exit from the station lobby moved onto the side street, Vozdvizhenka Street. (Earlier the exit was onto the Arbat Gate square).

In the ground lobby there is a huge frame with a missing portrait - until the mid 50's there was a portrait of Stalin which was later removed.
