The beer industry in Sibiu dates back to 1717, when the first brewery located on Turnului Street No 19 was established, being the first brewery in the current territory of Romania.
The Trei Stejari brewery was founded in 1889, owned by Johann Hager and Frederich Jikeli.
In 1948 the factory is nationalized becoming Întreprinderea de bere Sibiu (Sibiu Beer Enterprise), with a production capacity of 9240 hl. Starting with the year 2000, the Bere Trei Stejari factory starts a modernization program, which intensifies with August 2004 by purchasing a series of high performance equipment in accordance with the European Standards.
The factory closed after 2010.
