Pusat Latihan Tempur Tentera Darat (PULADA)

PULADA is a legacy of the British, constructed in the late 40's, and was the home of the British Commando Regiment. The center was once a world recognizes training center for jungle training and the best jungle survival school in the region, even US forces are trained here. Besides, it was also a center for jungle warfare training and to acclimatize British soldiers that had recently arrived from the UK, to the Malayan environment. If one were to read the book on the infamous General Idi Amin, he was said to have been send by the British for training at the center.

Sadly today, many army retirees felt ashamed and humiliated at seeing the dilapidated state of the once prestigious jungle warfare training center. And if one were to make a comparison of PULADA with that of the training centers build for the civil service, PULADA could easily be described that of a chicken coop. In addition, many politically-linked companies have big plans to turn PULADA into mega housing projects which ultimately most of the shop lots and houses built would fall into foreign hands.

  • PULADA is in transformation period at this time.
  • I attender Combat Survival Training at PULADA, Malaysia back in 1992. It was world class training and practical training that I really learned. I thank concerned staff and administration for this wonderful training course. Thanks to the Malaysian Army. It was an wonderful stay. Thanks. FARUK
  • my late father Col Mohamad Che Wan was komander early 70's,proud to be his son..Al-Fatihah
  • I went through Pulada back in 1982 with Charlie Company, 2/4 Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment, and I remember it being one of the hardest courses I ever did. Killing a krait with an entrenching tool during the "bake-a-snake" lecture sticks in my mind! It's sad that the place has been allowed to go to seed. It really was a world-class operation they ran there.
  • I went through the Combat Survival Course put on by Hutan Wing in 2014. Easily the most challenging and worthwhile tactical training I have experienced in my (as of now) 17 year career.
  • I trained and was given instruction at this camp as a member of C Company 8/9 RAR in 1976. Toughest jungle course I ever did in my twenty years in the Australian Infantry. Their instructors were hard professionals and the Diak tribesmen instructing in survival techniques were on another level of expertise.
  • I did it in the year of 1996. It was excellent stay with many buddies their. Now do they award any badge/insignia after completion of the course??
