This is Mount Hagen, the mountain, not the nearby town.

This mountain was named after Curt von Hagen, born 12. Sep. 1859 in Schippenbeil, East Prussia; murdered 13. Aug. 1897 near Jomba (Yomba) in Deutsch-Neuguinea (German New Guinea). He was planter in South East Asia, before joining the German colonial administration. From 22. Sep. 1896 until his death, von Hagen was Landeshauptmann of the Neuguinea-Kompagnie (a sort de facto Gouverner).
Mount Hagen is an old stratovolcano which has been heavily eroded during several Pleistocene glaciations. The maximum extent of the glaciers on Hagen was less than half that on the much higher Mount Giluwe, covering an area of up to 50 km² (20 mi²) and extending down below 3,400 m (11,000 ft).
