village, place with historical importance
The historic village of Odiham is located in Hart, Hampshire and is near the small town of Hook and the large town of Basingstoke. Nearby is the remains of Odiham castle, which is the site of an archaeological dig. To the south is an RAF base with more houses, which is known as RAF Odiham. Odiham has a secondary school, Robert Mays, which was founded in 1694, but the current buildings are relatively new. Pronounced "Oh-diam" the village is anything but odious.
