S-65E Dam and Navigational Lock

Structure 65E Dam is on the Kissimmee River (C-38) in Okeechobee County, Florida and is used for flood control and improved navigation purposes. Construction was completed in 1964. It is owned by South Florida Water Management District (Past C&SF Flood Control District). Structure 65e is of earthen construction. Its length is 400 feet. Maximum discharge is 24000 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 7450 acre feet. Normal storage is 5730 acre feet.
