One of the biggest cathedrals in the country and the seat of the Diocese of Laoag. The construction of the cathedral began in 1612 and was the site of the Diocesan Congress in 1932 and 1949. The Augustinians built the church with Italian Renaissance design in 1612.

Its unique two-storey facade is held by four pairs of coupled columns. the deeply recessed niche shows the patron saint of the city of Laoag, Saint William the hermit.
