Octagon hotel. Built around 1865 by Luther Jackson who used it as a hotel. Located at Main and Spring Streets. Three story. Ornate cupola. Porch on at least three sides. Apparently the hotel proprietress in 1889, Mary Lavelle, had steam heat added, and put in an early electric plant a year later. Telephone service was added in around 1900. Starting in about 1919 the first floor was remodeled, and used as a Ford showroom. In year 2005 a kitchen-bathroom remodeling business in using the first floor. The second and third floors, and the cupola, are said to be in mostly original condition. The main building can be admired easily from the road, it was restored in 2009 to become aprtments.
