San Isidro is part of the Greater Metropolitan Area and its main agricultural activities are coffee crops and vegetables and dairying.
north of the Region are located in part, the Braulio Carrillo National Park and the Central Volcanic Range Forest Reserve.
"Take out of water" is the name as it was called in colonial times. Even today it remains a real water out of it, its underground aquifers provide water to their neighbors, including several areas of the City of San Jose.
