  • 20-30 different kind of shops selling daily needs items. The nearby villages are 1) Sour - 3 km (my place) 2) Mandai 3) Diwala 4) Goom 5) Kathud 6) Lutanci 7) Manzadi 8) Char 9) Biznoor Pokhal is sort of shopping center for these villages. Now a days every villages have their own shop. There are a few chemist shop. Dr Rajesh Negi (from Sour) and Other guy from Goom are the owners. Also there is a goverment hospital. I still remember when we use to walk pass the "Pappu da ke Jalebi ke dukan" and can not go home without buying a kilo of Jalebi's. Kailash Bokhandi (my school mate) to make a lot of fun when it comes to Jalebi's. Overall the place is good for study but a bit dengerous when it comes to the security. Pushkar Bhatkoti

  • Two more Villages are there named Dangoo & Kholkhandi. Mostly Rana families are still residing there. Needy items are purchased from Pokhal Market. We also have a shop there. My brothers( Pradeep Rana, Chandermohan Rana,Ashok Rana, Anil Rana Gambhir Rana & Ranvir Rana) and sisters(Hemlata Rana, Asha Pundir) had studied at SGRR college Pokhalin sistees and seventees. The reminesence of our old days when we used to visit our village Dangoo during summer vacations and spend our days with our grandfather(Alam Singh Rana)is still persist in memory. The farming with bullockcarts, the fertilisation in our poonds(fields), The quar process(Making of Joots thread from Hoze,Pond)& Bhairav puja at village mandir could not be erased from my memory. Those are the golden days of my life. Mahideep Singh Rana, Dehradun(Uttrakhand)
  • i was also a student of SGRR, Paukhal during late sixities & frequented Paukhal market. love to visit again to refresh my memories of my childhood.i still remember the shops preparing tea, jalebis & pakories. the roadways bus moving slowly on the hilly track is still deep in mind. how can i forget those golden days of my life, when we enjoyed each & every moment of our life. madan mohan, kuwait city.
