This institution/ orphanage was opened in 1937, and a formal Inauguration was held on September 10, 1938. Mrs. Victoria Lopez de Araneta, is its founder and president. Its main service when its first opened was directed to the children of tuberculosis patients. Today, White Cross welcomes to its fold children of poor unwed mothers, of physically or mentally incapacitated parents, of prisoners, of victims of rape or incest, tuberculosis patients or those of unknown parents.

White Cross provides temporary haven for these children ages 0-6 years,.
