South Dune Highway

While now mostly protected (no driving, no hiking) there is a 12-stop (fee-based) paved "tour road" that can accomodate most cars/small RV's. The larger dunes are approximately 500 feet high, and warning signs clearly state the effort of coming back up from Lake Michigan, should you decide to run/float/tumble down to the shoreline. There are a few established nature trails, for the hiker in you.
