CFCL-TV 6 Timmins began broadcasting in December 1951, reaching listeners from Kirkland Lake to Hearst. Daily features instilled cultural pride, the love of one's maternal language, the importance of sending children to French schools and of furthering their education. It was later converted to a straight repeater of Toronto's CBLT-TV (as CBLT-TV-7) on October 27, 2002 and shut down on July 31, 2012.

CITO-TV was founded as a repater of Sudbury's CKSO-TV (now CICI-TV) in 1971 on channel 3, and in 1980 became an independent station, CITO-TV.
