Ahmednagar Fort
The fort was built by Ahmed Nizam Shah. India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru wrote a book 'Discovery Of India' in this fort when he was detained by the British in 1942.

  • A PILGRIM MEHER BABA'S SAMADHI AT MEHERABAD, AHMEDNAGAR. It is a very good place where all the countries site quite in the temple. I will never forget the place of MEHER BABA'S guest house.

  • There is a place known as "Dargah Dayra", two km away from Fort. There is tomb of Hazrat Shah Sharief (R.A.). It is mentioned in the history that, Hazrat Shah Sharief blessed Sardar Maloji Raje Bhonsale near Vellora. After that, Sardar Maloji Raje was blessed with two sons, whose names were kept as 'Shahaji' and 'Shariefji'. Later, Sardar Shahaji was blessed with Shivaji Maharaj. One can approach Dargah Dayra from Mukundnagar side also. There are many historical places around. If the Archealogical Deptt looks after them properly, Ahmednagar will be a good tourist place to visit.
  • This is the very nice place in this city.planty of turist are viseted heare this fort is build in the time of Aurenggeb.But in this days condition is not good becouse planty of turist are visited here they throw west material in this fort and sarounding Goverment of here not take care of this fort so i request to them related with them please take care of this old fort.

  • In this fort only Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was Jailed by the Britishers in our struggle for freedom.A very historical place.Must visit once in a lifetime.

  • During the anglo-boer war between Britain and the republics of the orange Free-state and Tranvaal, in what is now the republic of South Africa, the british imprisoned many Free-state and Tranvaal soldiers in the fort .Including my great-grandfather. Therefore , having read his recollections of the fort and the surrounding areas during 1901-1902, I find this website to be great, and would love to visit India, and especially this area.

Ahmednagar is one city having chances to develope more and more, but Indian Government restricted that list of cities which support government,in which Ahmednagar is present. Ahmednagar morely called NAGAR haven't developed with nearer cities such as Pune, Solapur, Nashik but Our NAGAR's HUMANMIND is much develope than those nearer cities, FROM 500 years i.e. from KING AHMED BAHAMANY(Eshtablisher of AHMEDNAGAR city)
